about Dr Sonic.

Sonic (He/Him) finished his studies in 2022 and is an AHPRA registered Doctor of Chinese Medicine. Sonic is passionate about health and wellbeing and loves working with people to help them achieve their health goals.

Sonic first completed a science degree at Melbourne University, graduating in 2016 with majors in physiology and neuroscience. He then went straight on to begin his Chinese Medicine degree at the Southern School of Natural Therapies.  During his studies, Sonic also studied Chinese Medicine in China as well as completing an internship at the Tzu-Chi hospital in Taiwan, working in the integrative medicine department.

Sonic originally thought about studying western medicine after his science degree,  however during his studies, Sonic became unwell and began a health journey of his own. That journey lead him to see a doctor of Chinese Medicine and his plans changed. Sonic benefited immensely from Chinese medicine and it widened his perspectives allowing him to see that there are many different ways to be a healer, and the way that best suited him, was embark on a path to become a doctor of Chinese Medicine.

Sonic’s passion for the body and health as well as his curious nature and gentle personality means he prioritises compassionate patient-centred care, while still delivering a holistic and comprehensive treatment.  By identifying and treating the underlying causes of a condition rather than just symptoms, Sonic works with his patients to assist and empower them in attaining well-being and both preventing illness and dealing with presenting issues.

By utilising acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui Na (Chinese massage) as well as other tools, in combination with diet and lifestyle advice all based in Chinese medicine theory, Sonic is able to assist with a wide range of medical and health concerns and has particular interests in sleep, men’s health, digestive health and mental health/psycho-emotional concerns.

My purpose

My mission is to help as many people as I can using this wonderful and ancient paradigm of medicine. Health is an active journey and therefore  I want to inspire my patients to walk the path of healing, guiding them along the way.  I want to help educate my patients on the steps they can take to help achieve their health goals.

I respect and value Western medicine, and understand its pivotal role in our health care landscape. I believe that when seeking medical attention, we have the opportunity to utilise the approach that is most beneficial in the circumstances.

As the old Chinese proverb says " If you dig a well once you are already thirsty you, are in trouble". I believe we should think about our health like this, focused on prevention rather than starting to think about it once we are already sick. Contact me for more information
